Just decided to give you something light and nice for the weekend. Yeah, you are welcome. lol. Gizdodo as named by Nigerians is a Nigerian meal made with mainly Gizzard and Plantain. The Giz in the name comes from gizzard while the dodo is plantain in south-western Nigeria. Enjoy!
- Red bell pepper
- Hot pepper
- Spices: curry, garlic, thyme, and salt. You can use whatever spice that you prefer
Step one: wash, add spices/seasoning and cook the gizzard till it’s soft.
Step two: wash, chop and fry the plantain
Step three: fry the already-cooked gizzard
Step four: blend the onions, bell pepper, hot pepper and tomatoes together using the grating button on the blender. This gives the final result a not-so smooth texture.
Step five: with a little vegetable oil in a hot frying pan, add the blended mixture, stir, add spices to your taste and allow it fry for 15-20 minutes.
Step six: add the already fried gizzard to the fried tomatoes mixture, stir and allow it simmer for 5 minutes.
Step seven: add the already fried plantain, stir and allow it simmer for 3-5 minutes.
And Gizdodo is ready! Enjoy with a glass of chilled juice. lol.
